Consciousness, An Awesome Mystery - 1

If you're like most people, you probably take your consciousness for granted, using it to think, feel, and experience the world around you on a daily basis. But have you ever stopped to think about just how strange and mysterious consciousness really is? How did you feel when you became aware of your consciousness for the first time?

Think about it: you are a collection of atoms and molecules, held together by the laws of physics and chemistry, yet somehow you are able to experience the world in a way that is deeply personal and subjective. How is it that your brain is able to create this rich and varied experience of reality? Let's see what's really the consciousness.

Consciousness is a fundamental aspect of the human experience, and yet it remains one of the most mysterious and poorly understood phenomena in science and philosophy. What is consciousness, and how does it arise in the brain? These are questions that have puzzled scientists and philosophers for centuries, and despite significant progress, we are still far from having a complete understanding of this complex and elusive topic. The main challenge in studying consciousness is that it is a subjective experience that cannot be directly measured or observed. How do we study something that can only be experienced from within?

This problem has led some researchers to argue that consciousness is simply an epiphenomenon, a byproduct of the brain's activity that has no real causal power. Others believe that consciousness is a fundamental aspect of the universe, akin to space & time and that it plays a central role in shaping our experience of the world.

One of the most influential theories of consciousness is known as the integrated information theory, which proposes that consciousness arises from the integration of information across different brain areas. According to this view, consciousness is not a single thing, but rather a complex and dynamic process that emerges from the activity of the brain.

Another important theory is the global workspace theory, which suggests that consciousness arises from the interaction between different brain regions and the integration of information from different sources. This theory proposes that the brain functions like a stage, with different areas presenting information and the consciousness being the audience that experiences this information.

So there are too many theories, philosophies and beliefs tried to explain the nature of consciousness.  However, most of them are speculative. We must attempt to comprehend and analyze what the scientific community and other philosophies have to say about it in order to acquire a clear picture. Let's deep dive into consciousness..!
